Acetal (POM) is an ideal candidate for many healthcare applications due to inherent properties like dimensional stability, wear resistance, and lubricity. As a homopolymer acetal, Delrin® offers a high degree of crystallinity, which provides excellent mechanical properties. It’s high modulus makes it one of the stiffest and strongest unreinforced engineering polymers available. With the need for sustainable solutions becoming more critical, things like recyclability and light-weighting are also key benefits. In addition, Delrin® is now available with Renewably Attributed (RA) options, which perform and process identical to their fossil fuel based offsets. This talk will highlight the previous concepts and cover a healthcare case study.
