In the large majority of cases\, this assumption is correct and reliable. However in the extreme shear environments of micro injection molding\, shear thinning behavior is often pushed to the limits into a region sometimes referred to as “the second Newtonian plateau”. In this presentation\, we will discuss conventional plastics flow behavior and  explore some of the phenomena that occur under extreme shear exposure.
